IMPaCT Announces 40th Sarala Puraskar

Dr. Pradeep Dash, a noted writer in Odia will get the 40th edition of prestigious Sarala Puraskar for his poetry work “Charu Chibar O Charjya”. The Sarala Puraskar Committee announced this in a meeting held here today evening. He will receive a cash award of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakh only) along with a citation.

Two more notable personalities of Odisha will be honoured for their valuable contribution in the field of music and art, Pandit Harmohan Khuntia will be awarded 'Ila Panda Sangeet Samman' and Sri Lalat Mohan Patnaik will receive 'Ila Panda Chitrakala Samman'. They will receive a cash award of Rs. 1,50,000/- (Rupees one lakh fifty thousand only) each along with citations. A special function will be held on 26th October, 2019 to felicitate Dr. Pradeep Dash along with other awardees. His Excellency Governor of Odisha, Prof. Ganeshi Lal has consented to be the Chief Guest at the Sarala Award function.

The annual Sarala Puraskar instituted by eminent Odia industrialist Late Dr. Bansidhar Panda and Late Mrs. Ila Panda in the year 1979, has been continuously awarded by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT). IMPaCT is the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd., the leading and the only fully integrated producer of ferro alloys in India. Sarala Puraskar is recognised as the foremost literary award of our State. This award is one of the finest contributions of IMPaCT to glorify Odia literature. The Ekalabya Puraskar also has been instituted by IMPaCT to encourage promising sports talents of Odisha.
