High Purity Ferro Silicon, and Ferro Silicon Magnesium for
the domestic market as well as major international markets.
IMFA is unique from a quality perspective in that it has multi-product

range of its activities.
How it all began...
Therubali, in the erstwhile undivided Koraput district of
Odisha was as remote a location as can be imagined. Other
than a cluster of mud huts there was little else on offer
for the local population which consisted almost exclusively
of Adivasis (indigenous tribals). There was no infrastructure
worth speaking off - even the most basic facilities such as
potable water & electricity were not to be found and people
watched trains whiz by since there was no traffic. While Odisha
provided a steady stream of raw materials to industries based
in neighbouring States and indeed all over the world there
was very little that it received in return by way of employment
generation or development.
It all changed in 1961 when Dr Bansidhar Panda, an American
educated research scientist, chose this remote area to be
the cornerstone of his dream of an industrialised Odisha.
Ably supported by his wife, the late Mrs Ila Panda, the dream
has since turned into reality.
Today's Therubali in the newly carved out Rayagada district
is the envy of many who look to the bustling township with
modern infrastructure and amenities as leading the drive for
value addition and employment generation within the State.
