Harihar Mishra Nominated for Sarala Award

Poet and playwright Harihar Mishra has been nominated for the prestigious Sarala Award this year, the Sarala Award committee announced on Thursday. The award is being bestowed on Mishra for his poetry “Dibya Asantosha” and overall contribution to Oriya literature. He will receive ` 2.5 lakh in cash and a citation.

Classical vocalist Aruplal Ghosh and social worker Shruti Mohapatra would also be honoured for their contribution to their fields.

They would receive ` 51,000 each in cash along with citations.

A special function will be held on October 23, at Rabindra Mandap to felicitate Mishra and other awardees. Chairman of Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, Ashok Vajpayi would give away the awards.
