IMFA re-elected into the ICDA Council

IMFA, India's largest, fully integrated producer of Ferro Alloys was today re-elected into the Council of the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA) at its Annual General Meeting held in Hong Kong on the 01st of June 2011. ICDA is a Paris-based body that represents the chrome industry worldwide

ICDA's Council comprising of chrome ore, ferro chrome and stainless steel producers from around the world besides other processors and leading trading houses, is tasked with managing the affairs of the organisation.

Mr Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director of IMFA, was elected by the Council Members as Chairman of the Management Committee which oversees the functioning of ICDA.

ICDA is the only international organization for Chromium in all its forms. The ICDA was set up in Paris in 1990 and now has 105 Members from 26 countries on 5 continents. The 58 Ordinary Members account for 93% of world production of Chromite Ore, 82% of Ferrochromium, 82% of Chromium Chemicals, 60% of Chromium Metal and 65% of Stainless Steel.
