Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), India's largest producer of ferro alloys, has been honoured with the prestigious 'Niryat Shree' award by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) at a glittering function held at New Delhi today. The award recognizes outstanding export performance by erstwhile Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL) – which has since merged with IMFA – during the year 2004-05. Shri Kamal Nath, Hon'ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, gave away the awards to the country's top exporters.

Mr Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director, received the award and said thereafter : "We are truly honoured to have been chosen for this prestigious award and see it as vindication of our corporate philosophy of focusing on value addition. I humbly accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues & co-workers without whose untiring efforts we would not have reached this pinnacle."

IMFA is today the country's largest producer & exporter of ferro alloys with 157 MVA installed furnace capacity and is also the only 'fully integrated' producer by virtue of its 108 MW coal-based power plant and captive chrome ore mines. It has been regularly honoured with various State and National level awards for outstanding export performance including the Star Performer Award instituted by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC).
