IMFA Choudwar bags 34th State Safety Award

The Choudwar Division of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), India's largest producer of ferro alloys, has bagged the prestigious 34th State Safety Award. The award, sponsored by the Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Government of Odisha, is given every year in recognition of outstanding health and safety measures adopted by industry.

The award was presented by Shri Jayanarayan Mishra, Hon'ble Minister for Labour & Employment, at a glittering function held yesterday at Bhubaneswar. Among others, Shri Benudhar Mishra, Commissioner cum Secretary, Labour & Employment, Government of Odisha, and Shri Santanu Mishra, Director, Factories & Boilers, were present on the occasion. Mr B D Sahoo, Senior Vice President (Operations), received the award on behalf of IMFA.

The Choudwar industrial complex of IMFA has ISO 9001 quality management certification, ISO 14001 environment management certification and OHSAS 18001 occupational health & safety certification. Such comprehensive certification is indeed unique and represents IMFA's commitment to benchmark its operations against stringent international standards.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Jayant Misra, Director (Corporate) and Chief Operating Officer of IMFA, said : "In our pursuit of operational excellence, we also endeavour to provide a safe working environment to our workforce which is essential for achieving high levels of motivation and efficiency.
