IMFA Group output scales new highs in January 2005
Ferro Chrome output tops 10,000 tonnes for the first time

IMFA Group, India's largest producer of ferro alloys, today announced that several new production records were set during the month of January 2005.

Ferro Chrome production at Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL), Choudwar was the second highest ever in a single month at 6023 tonnes while the output at Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), Therubali was 3007 tonnes. The combined prime ferro chrome production of 9030 tonnes is the highest in a single month. However, in terms of saleable production the output figure achieved during January 2005 was a record 10,265 tonnes crossing for the first time ever the significant milestone of 10,000 tonnes in a single month.

Similarly, ferro silicon production at IMFA Therubali during the month was 3112 tonnes with Plant 01 (10 MVA furnace) achieving an all time record of 839 tonnes. Meanwhile, power generation during January 2005 was 74.2 million units representing 99.7% plant load factor (PLF).

Commenting on the achievements Mr Subhrakant Panda, Joint Managing Director, said : "Credit for the excellent operational performance goes to the production teams at both sites whose hard work and team spirit has brought about the various records. As an organisation this is the best tribute that we could pay to the memory of Mrs Ila Panda, Founder-Director, who passed away suddenly on January 11th."
