A three judge bench of the Hon'ble Supreme Court comprising of Hon'ble Justice Y K Sabharwal, Hon'ble Justice S B Sinha and Hon'ble Justice K G Balakrishnan today allowed a review petition and set aside an earlier judgement regarding allotment of chrome ore mining lease to Nav Bharat Ferro Alloys Ltd.

In December 2002 the Hon'ble Supreme Court had dismissed a Special Leave Petition filed by Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) and Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL) challenging the out of turn allotment of chrome ore mining lease to Nav Bharat Ferro Alloys Ltd by the Government of Odisha. However, in a rare occurrence of a review petition being allowed, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has now set aside the earlier judgement stating that it suffered from manifest errors.
