ICCL Power Plant sets new record
106% PLF in January 2004

Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL), part of the IMFA Group which is India's largest producer of ferro alloys, today announced that its captive power plant located at Choudwar, Odisha has set a new record in the month of January 2004 by generating 77.174 million units (mu). This is equivalent to a plant load factor (PLF) of 106% and surpasses the earlier record of 76.548 mu achieved in January 2003.

Commenting on the new generation record Mr Subhrakant Panda, Joint Managing Director, said : "The operational turnaround of IMFA Group which began with the allotment of captive chrome ore mines in late 1999 is now firmly established. This is but one of the many operational records we have achieved recently and is yet another sign of our renaissance."

He added : "The excellent performance of the captive power plant has enabled us to operate our furnaces at a high load so as to encash the ongoing boom in the ferro alloys market which is on a cyclical high."
