IMFA Group units set new operational records

Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL), part of the IMFA Group which is India's largest producer of ferro alloys, today announced that its 108 MW captive power plant based in Choudwar has set a new record for the highest ever generation during a 12 month period. During the Calendar Year 2002 the power plant has generated 825.65 million units representing 94% plant load factor (PLF) thereby surpassing the earlier record of 768.63 million units (88% PLF) set in the year 2000. In the Financial Year 2002-03 the power plant is on course to set a new record with generation reaching 629.62 million units (95% PLF) in the 9 months ending December 2002.

Meanwhile, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), the flagship company of the IMFA Group, has also set a new record with its 24 MVA furnace producing 3082 mt ferro chrome in the month of December 2002. This is the first time that the furnace has crossed the 3000 mt mark in a month.
