Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL), the Odisha based ferro alloys producer which is part of the IMFA Group, today announced that it ushered in the new year with record output in the month of December 2001 by both the Charge Chrome Plant and the Captive Power Plant based at Choudwar.

Charge Chrome output touched an all time high of 5542 mt of prime saleable product as compared to the earlier figure of 5251 mt. However, the total output from the furnace crossed the 6000 mt mark for the first time ever registering 6253 mt. Representing a capacity utilization of 120% this is a particularly significant achievement since it comes barely two months after the furnace was restarted following a complete relining.

Similarly the Captive Power Plant generated a record 75.551 million units representing 94% plant load factor (PLF) and surpassing the previous best of 74.547 million units.

Referring to the twin achievements Mr Subhrakant Panda, Joint Managing Director, said : "It is very heartening that the Charge Chrome Plant is quickly into its stride after a major maintenance activity. Of course, the record power generation also enabled us to operate our furnaces at full capacity. It is a tribute to the efforts of the entire team at Choudwar that we have been able to set the new records right at the start of the new year thereby giving us a sense of purpose and confidence".
