It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the sudden demise of Mrs Ila Panda, Founder-Director of IMFA Group. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Bhubaneswar on January 11 at about 6.00 am and the last rites were conducted in the evening.

She played a very important & active role in the formation of IMFA Group and also spearheaded initiatives on corporate social responsibilities through Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT). She took a leadership role in various community development activities and in the establishment of the prestigious Sarala Award (for excellence in Oriya literature) and Ekalabya Puraskar (for encouraging budding Oriya sportspersons).

Mrs Panda who is also a former Member of Parliament, is survived by Dr Bansidhar Panda (Founder-Chairman of IMFA Group) and four children.
