Indian Charge Chrome Ltd (ICCL), the Odisha based ferro alloys producer which is part of the IMFA Group, announced that its 48 MVA furnace was switched on today six days ahead of schedule following a complete relining. IMFA Group Director Mrs Ila Panda switched on the furnace after a simple ceremony.

Mr Subhrakant Panda, Joint Managing Director, said "Although we had set ourselves a tough target of 47 days it is a tribute to our team work and commitment that we have completed the work 6 days ahead of schedule". He added that the furnace is expected to achieve full load within a fortnight and, following the complete relining along with other maintenance work undertaken simultaneously, would be able to operate more efficiently. Meanwhile, the company has also resumed making monthly payments to the Financial Institutions and Banks which had been temporarily suspended on account of the furnace shut-down.
