Good wishes pour in for
IMFA on jubilee day

Odisha-based Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) was
showered with praises and good wishes on its golden jubilee
day in a meeting here on Saturday to mark the occasion.
Chief guest Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare termed
IMFA’s success as an inspiration for others and praised
it for its variety of achievements that included contribution
to the economy of the State, its efforts to promote education
and health in the tribal areas and its effort to promote Odia
culture and literature with the Sarala Award.
Bhandare advised IMFA to establish itself as a more prominent
industrial house by looking ahead with a new vision, a new
mission and adopt a new resolve to exploit emerging opportunities
for the welfare of the State. Speaker of Odisha Legislative
Assembly Pradip Amat also praised the company for its spirit
of innovation and socially responsible acts. The messages
of goodwill by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Home
Minister P Chidambaram were read out as they could attend
the meeting due to various reasons. Representatives of Nisshin
Steel and Marubeni Corporation handed over special mementoes
to IMFA on the occasion.

The meeting witnessed Founder-Chairman of IMFA Dr Bansidhar
Panda, who also celebrated his 80th birthday on the day, going
down the memory lane. He described the journey of IMFA over
the last 50 years as one of commitment to society and victory
of determined entrepreneurship against heavy odds.
IMFA Vice-Chairman and MP Baijayant Panda mentioned value
addition to the resources of the State for benefit of its
economy and CSR activities as the major contributions of the
last five decades of IMFA. Managing Director Subhrakant Panda
spoke about the resolve of IMFA to become a global player
and pointed out the acquisition of coal assets in Indonesia
as a step in that direction. The meeting also saw employees
being awarded for long and dedicated services to the company.
